I Am Emily Munce, LMHC

Guide, listener, and collaborator in the quiet work of becoming Yourself.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s degree in Holistic Counseling. It is my experience that we are not just minds with problems to solve; we are whole beings. Our emotional life, our nervous system, our physical health, and our spiritual longings exist, not only in interconnection within our bodies, but with the world around us. This understanding of holism guides my work and shapes how I show up to hold space with care and curiosity.

Wild Oak Holistic was born from a simple understanding about life: healing is not one-dimensional. All humans have nervous systems with memories, bodies with stories, and spirits shaped by longing and resilience. To tend to one without the others is to miss the meaning and wholeness of who we are. I truly believe healing asks for shared responsibility between practitioner and client, an honoring of both personal agency and relational support. I see my role with clients not to fix or direct, but to walk alongside you with authenticity and transparency as you reconnect with the wisdom already living within you. I believe healing unfolds through relationships that are rooted in trust, accountability, and a shared commitment to your growth.

My clinical foundation includes Humanistic therapy, trauma-informed care, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative Therapy. My work is informed by Somatic theories, offering an embodied understanding of emotional regulation, nervous system functioning, and relational safety. I also draw from research done by the HeartMath Institute, particularly in relation to heart-brain coherence, resilience, and self-regulation. I work with contemplative practices within established psychological frameworks to support insight and integration. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and relational, grounded in reciprocity, mutual respect, and compassion for the complexity of human experience.

In recent years, my study of Western clinical herbalism has further expanded my understanding of mental health as deeply interconnected with the body’s systems. The rhythms of digestion, sleep, stress response, and hormonal balance are not separate from our emotional world; they are an integral part of it. Through this lens, physical wellness becomes an essential companion to emotional and spiritual healing. Herbalism is offered as a supportive, educational extension of this work— a gentle partnership with the natural world to offer vitality.

At Wild Oak Holistic, healing is relational and rooted honoring mental and emotional health while also integrating physical wellness and spiritual connection as essential dimensions of the healing process. In our work together, you can expect to be held with care, integrity, and openness to the abundance that emerges when all parts of the self are welcomed. Together, we cultivate a steady, compassionate relationship with yourself. Like the Oak, this work is about growing strong through the seasons of life. If you feel drawn to this, I invite you to reach out. I would be honored to walk alongside you.

Testimonials

“I feel so lucky to have found Emily. She is incredibly kind, and I leave every session feeling inspired to treat myself with more compassion. Since working with her I feel much more capable of coping with my anxiety and depression, and able to prioritize my emotional well-being. She is an amazing support to have in one's corner.” —BR

“Emily creates a space where all of my identities can be present and held. She gently pushes when needed to remind me that I’m human and doesn’t get in the way if I’m working through something. She’s a grounded presence and sits with patience, knowing that with time and care, I’ll find my way back to my own grounded presence. She helps me get out of my own way so that I can open up to the light that’s always there.” — CC

“Working WITH Emily sets her practice apart from others. It is a collaborative effort. The progress you’ll make comes from within yourself. She will guide you there - rather than fitting her solutions into your world. Through our time together I have gained a better understanding of myself and the tools I’ll need to continue my personal growth.” — CL
